De-Skunking Recipe The scent of a skunk can be irritating, not to mention powerfully malodorous. Common antidotes like tomato juice, vinegar, or regular shampoo just may not do the best job. The Ingredients · 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide · 1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) · 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap Directions Wet your pet down and work the mixture through the pet's hair. Leave on for three to four minutes and rinse. Be sure to throw away any excess mixture. Note: This recipe works great. In Warm weather you could rub it into his entire body out in the yard, wait the 3-4 minutes and then bring your pup inside to rinse and then shampoo.
